Vacation Day 9 - Last Day of the Con!

Well, today was the final day of San Diego Comic Con International
2005. It was fun, but it's nice to be done with it. There's just so
much to see and do and after it's all over, I need a day or two to
decompress. To get it all over out of my system, here are a ton of last
day photos:
***Comic Book Creators***
Andy Lee:

I have better pics of Andy himself, but I liked the way this one showed
his whole work area/process. Nicest guy at the con every year.
Kaptain Kartoon:

Did a cool anime style character sheet of Nikki.
Day-Glo guy:

Matt and I kind of hosed him by being one of "those guys" that ask him
to hold artwork to the side and then never come back. Sorry Day-Glo
guy...ran out of money.
Flight Comics:

Very nice group of creators producing excellent work. Can't wait to see what they think up next. I'm sure it will be beautiful.
Robert Kirkman:

Writer of Invincible and The Walking Dead. Two of the best comics being produced today.
David Mack:

David and his new lady friend meet a big fan. Another always nice and highly talented artist.
Ronin:

Cool bunch of guys that I know through the Bendis Board. Was good to
finally meet them. Bought Shane's comic all autographed up and stuff
(even if he is a Cardinals fan).
***Costumed Folks***
Duval Stowers

I didn't know if I should put him under the "creator" section or
"costume" section, so I kind of stuck him in the middle. I'm not sure
about him, but I've seen him before. I think he comes on the last day
and figures out where there is an open spot in artist alley and sets up
shop. He's always dressed as Superman...kind of odd...
Some angel guy:

Some weird box headed people at a manga booth...I can't explain it:

Gaara and friends reading manga:

I don't know exactly what she was supposed to be, but for some reason I stopped to take a picture anyway:

Hulk Girls and some dude who thinks Boston is cool:

Puzzle tattoo'd guy (I think he was in an episode of The X-Files or something...I also think I've seen him around Austin):

Wolverine:

***Con Toys and Things***
Alien Hominid (Bought this game for $20. I wish I had brought my GameCube so I could try it out. Looks pretty fun!):

Weird Dolls:

Greedo's Antenna (Note the $1000-1500 asking price):

Star Wars Legos (these are mostly for Andy):

Optimus Prime from the upcoming live action movie (he won't be unveiled until NEXT YEAR'S con!):

***Porn Stars & Such***
For some reason, Sunday was porn star day. I don't know why. I can't
even explain why these people are at the con other than to get sad
fanboys to pay $20 to have their picture taken with an actual woman.
Anyway, if you're at all offended by porn star type stuff, skip ahead
to the next section. I don't think there's any nudity or anything like
that, but there's lots of skin...you've been warned.
Dazza Del Rio:

Tiffany Taylor:

Twister competition at the Troma booth:

***THE END***
ANBU officers were protecting the con on the final day, so all were safe:

After leaving the con, Becky and I stopped at In N Out Burger (sorry Matt):

It was quite good as usual, even though the idiot boys next to us complained about every little thing.
"I don't like these trays."
"This shake is too thick."
They've got things too good. Can't even appreciate a good In N Out Burger.
Tomorrow we have NO PLANS! Sleeping late, maybe buying some groceries
and stuff. The photos probably won't be as exciting as they have been
for the last few days, but I'll try to shoot something if we leave the
house.

Glad you liked the pics! Good luck at WizardWorld. Which one is in August? I've been to WWChicago once and WWTexas twice...they are always fun! I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

it's in Chicago; i'm volunteering for a pass and hopefully to figure my way around. (i'm not planning to dress up as a fanboy fantasy) :) btw, the pictures you posted look great! were you using that wal-mart camera for all of them? ...i was thinking of getting one if they're that cheap!
Sounds like you'll have fun that way! Unfortunately the Wal-Mart camera didn't work out. The pictures from the first day of the con were taken with that one. After that, I brought our Canon Digital Rebel every other day. It takes wonderful photographs. I returned the Wal-Mart camera yesterday and got my money back. I wouldn't recommend buying it. Save up a little more and get a decent point and shoot digital camera...you'll be glad you did.
